Salt Mule Co is a family-run salt company. We supply pure, mineral-rich salt for three purposes: bathing, cooking, and feeding livestock. We also carry Himalayan salt slabs for the kitchen and for display. That's the whole business — salt, carried right.
Before railroads and highways, salt moved on the backs of pack mules — across mountain passes, down trade routes, into every settlement that needed it. The mule didn't care about branding or margins. It just carried what people needed, as far as it had to go. That's the energy we're working with.
Salt is one of the most essential substances on earth. It preserves food, heals the body, and keeps animals alive. The industrial supply chain strips it down, bleaches it white, and loads it with additives to make it flow better in a shaker. We think that's backwards.
Our salt is unrefined, mineral-rich, and sourced from deposits that have been forming for hundreds of millions of years. We don't add anything to it, and we don't take anything out. What you get is salt the way the earth made it.
A pack mule never belonged to one valley. It worked the high passes, the river crossings, and the long haul between settlements — wherever there was work and someone who needed what it carried. We're built the same way. We come from working country: mountains, timber, and pasture, where people still do things with their hands and know honest product when they see it. That's the standard we carry with us, wherever the trail leads.
